Nude portrait based on live model--who actually did wear the vinyl coat. The style is an extension of previous experiments, such as the wolf by firelight (which is of the same live model). There are few outlines; instead, contrast, shade, and texture are conveyed entirely by stippling and cross-hatching. The existing inks convey such a sense of visual "mass" that color would be superfluous and perhaps even detrimental to the art's impact, so only the original black-and-white version is offered. |
